Now that I have purchased a MIDI Keyboard once again, DJ Logos will be performing his first three hour show in months this coming Saturday night at 7pm central time. It's going to be a killer show.
Please show your support by tuning in!
August 2nd, 2010
It has been a long and hard road these past several months, I cannot deny that. Either I have been plagued by equipment problems or have found it necessary to pawn the DJ Gear (twice) in order to pay the rent. It has not been a happy time. Even the website suffered an extended outage after I failed to be able to pay even the lousy $4 a month it costs to run DJLogos.net.
However, I am pleased to announce that the worst seems to be behind me. I am in possession of my gear, although lately I have been fighting an intermittent static problem that is now pointing to my expensive $150 sound card as the culprit. Just my luck, its warranty expired only three weeks ago. Yet another expense I cannot afford at this time. In addition, I had to sell the MIDI keyboard and will not be able to acquire another one for another month at least. The shows just aren't the same without the samples. They are truly the icing on the cake.
So I guess what I'm saying is this: DJ Logos is not dead. The rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated!
In the meantime before I can get the show back on the road, I am posting the mixes I have made in the last four weeks. These were either broadcast then interrupted after 50 minutes with static or were tests of the equipment utilizing the remaining pieces of Logos in Motion 43 that weren't completed due to the static.
So you will have something to enjoy while the wait is occurring!

July 7th, 2010
This past paycheck was not sufficient to both pay my bills and retrieve the gear from its new home at the Gentilly Cash America Pawn Shop. I am confident that next check on the 15th will be enough to cover the $150 needed to rescue it and put DJ Logos back on the air. ETA at this time for the next broadcast of Logos in Motion is the Saturday of July 17th.
June 22nd, 2010
Due to station difficulties, Logos in Motion XLII was only 50 minutes in length. It is now available for download.
Due to continuing financial difficulties, I had to re-pawn my DJ gear again last week so there was no show this past weekend of the 19th. I will be re-acquiring the gear after my next paycheck on the 30th so the next show will not occur until Saturday, July 3rd.
See you then.

The wait for DJ Logos to return to the cyber air-waves is finally over!
Logos in Motion XLII will be broadcast this Saturday night on Unitedbreaks.fm at 7pm central time! Be sure and tune in if you have the time for a good ride from the best there is, Logos!! WHOA!
April 13th, 2010
It has been a long and a tough two months since I last wrote anything on this site. It has also been a long time since I have performed two consecutive weekly shows. This has not been for lack of desire, but a series of events that have introduced chaos into my life. I have had to move three times in the last two months and had to go through quite a struggle to retrieve my DJ equipment during the latter part of this most dark of seasons. Now that I am living in a peaceful environment and have retrieved my beloved means of communicating with God (spinning) it is time to resurrect DJ Logos.
This Saturday's show will be the best ever, and it would mean a lot to me if as many people tuned in as possible. Thanks and see everyone Saturday evening for Logos in Motion XLI at 7pm on unitedbreaks.fm!
February 13th, 2010
Although I have not had adequate time to test the D9000 for continued malfunction, other more important priorities have made themselves known. Chief is the need to move my family into a smaller residence. Now that I no longer have the same level of salary, the amount of rent we are paying is too high. It will be at least two to three weeks before the show returns, presuming the equipment does not continue to have problems.
February 8th, 2010
It was bound to happen sooner or later: equipment trouble. During this past Saturday's show, the right-side deck on the D9000 started skipping at random. After four skips over a one hour period plus a disc error reading a perfectly good CD, I decided to stop the show before any more happened. Consequently, the show was only 94:37 in length. It is still available for download, however. See if you can listen for how well the master covers mixing mistakes. ;-)
If anyone is interested in donating some funds to replace the right-side unit, the amount I need is $219.00. If it is necessary to foot this expense out-of-pocket, it will not be replaced for a month or more. I am currently testing the unit since blowing some dust of out it last night and pray that it continues to work properly before next Saturday's show. If I cannot achieve reliability, the show will be placed on hiatus until the defective drive unit is replaced.
If you are interested in donating, click contact on the left side to send me an e-mail. In that e-mail, state the amount you would be interested in donating. I will then send you a PayPal invoice. Thanks in Advance!

Tonight's show was the most energetic, adrenaline driven show ever! You will HIGHLY enjoy it. GO SAINTS!!!
January 24th, 2010
The show just keeps on getting better and better! Now I've got my hands on some good samples of sirens, including the red alert sound from Star Trek. As usual, it's the BBBOOOMMMBBB, homie!
January 9th, 2010
Tonight's show, episode 34 of Logos in Motion, was one of the most spontaneous and fun sessions
I have performed in a very long time.
I am sure that you will highly enjoy
this classic set to kick off 2010! You know where the links are by now, so what are you waiting for?
December 25th, 2009
Merry Christmas Everyone!! Things are finally looking up in my life now that I have a job at what appears to be a good job. However, my Comcast Internet Connection has been malfunctioning to the point where it has caused me to stop performing shows during both of the last few weeks. An embarassing event indeed! The problem should be fixed by Sunday. However, in the interest of giving the UnitedBreaks.fm and djlogos.net audience a full three hour show, something not done in over 2 months, I pre-recorded the show for broadcast. In appreciation for the patience of all who take interest in downloading and enjoying my sets, I have posted that show tonight! It's the least I can do.
Have a Happy New Year Everyone!!
December 16th, 2009
It's just my luck that despite thirty plus broadcasts without any transmission problems whatsoever, my internet connection would happen to pick the first show Logos has performed in six weeks to behave erradically. The show had to be aborted due to constant drop-outs and skipping. While the show sounded fine from my end, it didn't make it to UnitedBreaks.fm server in one steady stream.
NOW THAT IS SOME BULLSHIT!!
Since this embarassing episode, I have installed a new operating system on my PC... Windows 7.
After days of re-installing, configuring and testing all of the DJ related applications, I am pleased to report that Windows 7 passes all tests with flying colors. This Saturday's show should get off the ground smoothly. If not, I am in possession of a big hammer that will be thrust into the side of my computer's case with brute force. :)
December 11th, 2009
Logos breaks the silence this Saturday night featuring a return from six weeks of hiatus (personal hell, frankly) to re-engage the engines of divine essence for your listening pleasure. Logos in Motion is back!
Now that I am employed again, I feel that dark cloud lifting more and more every day.
It is now time to
bring Logos back into the fold.
Look out everybody, the storm's coming!
A very big Thank You goes out to long-time friend Stanley Fleury, who was kind enough to donate $100 to the save-DJ-Logos-fund! Because of his donation, the show will continue on this Saturday night when otherwise it would have had to wait a month or more.
November 18th, 2009
The MicroKorg vocoder/synthesizer has been sold on Ebay. I didn't use it much anyway, so its sale won't affect the existence of DJ Logos. The SL1200 turntable was listed but did not sell. I've been selling the equipment in the sequence of least used first. I wonder how much farther I'm going to have to go in order to keep the lights on and food in the fridge... :(
There will be no further weekly shows until my employment situation changes,
assuming that my core DJ gear has not been sold yet.
November 1st, 2009
Unfortunately, it appears as if DJ Logos may be going away. No, I'm not headed for the insane asylum. Rather, due to being unemployed I may be forced to sell my DJ gear to give my family another month of having a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. As each day passes, it is becoming clear that finding gainful employment is not so easy.
If you are the praying kind and you happen to enjoy my live sets, please pray extra hard that I get through this storm with my DJ identity in one piece. Twice before have I been forced to sell my beloved DJ gear. If it happens a third time, you can rest assured that there will be no further attempts to do this as a hobby. It will be time to move on to other endeavors. As each day passes, this is becoming the inevitable conclusion.
How stupid I was to take a government job when I had a stable job in the private sector; one that I am unable to return to.
How stupid I was indeed.
I am so tired of struggling; so tired of being knocked off the mountain and having to climb it yet again... so tired.
Dreams die all the time; this one is no more special than any of those.
The weekly show has been put on indefinite hiatus. Enjoy downloading the sets while you can.
It is nearly time to declare "Game Over."
Wish to make a donation? Please click here to send me an e-mail, putting "Donation" in the subject line.

Beginning this Saturday night, October 10th, 2009, Logos in Motion will cease to exist. In its ashes will rise neXus.
Here's the new formula: I have no idea what I'm going to play before the show begins. Other than a notepad listing the newest tracks in my collection and where they are located, there will be no more pre-planning. My skills and music catalog have evolved in depth and breadth enough to do away with the need to pick tracks ahead of time. It is now time to move into 100% free-form spinning. (It was also time for a new name for my weekly show)
Enter neXus. The show will continue to be three hours in length and be heard on Saturday night. So be there at the first broadcast!
October 3rd, 2009
Tonight's set was absolutely awesome! Over 100 samples taken from Star Trek 4 made their debut along with almost a dozen new tracks. Check it out!

An urgent need to mix on top of nine debut tracks dying to be weaved together Logos style caused me to not only make a middle of the night set, it caused me to stay up all friggin' night. I'm going to have fun making it through work today!! That's ok, I'll sleep when I'm dead. Till then, fuck it!
September 23rd, 2009Please keep my family in your prayers as I enter the employment market starting October 1st. Fort Knox decided not to renew the nation-wide IMS contract, which provided my salary, at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2010. At first disgusted by being let go due to no action or mis-deed on my part, I now realize that it is the lawful unfolding of my life and accept this. God has indeed blessed me with so many caring friends and family members, and enough faith in life to know that my family's needs will be met. It's not knowing how it will manifest that drives me bananas!! The weekly broadcast show will continue as normal, for the time being. I am considering altering the time slot from 7-10pm to 8-11pm central time. As always, I welcome your comments e-mailed to me by clicking the CONTACT button on the left.
I have re-organized the Live Sets section to be a bit more centralized.
One last note: the next episode of Logos in Motion, XXX, will be a "sex" song session with nine new track debuts and plenty of Old Skool sexy songs included. As a first, I am allowing the playlist to be viewed ahead of time. How the mixes will be executed is always performed on-the-fly, but it helps to pick the songs before hand so I can concentrate all that otherwise wasted time on creativity instead of picking "what's next." Click here for the playlist.
Below are some photos I took of the current setup earlier tonight...
August 29th, 2009Four years ago today, my life was turned upside down by Hurricane Katrina. So I decided to dedicate the first song of tonight's show to that memory, performing a live edit of Into the Ocean from Blue October. That said, it was also a great show with some new tracks, lots of old skool and a few old skool friends Tom Slique and Stan Fleury joining me in the U.B. chatroom. Enjoy episode 27!
August 14th, 2009
An unexpected visit from a very old friend kicked off a picture-taking binge that has resulted in the creation of Gallery #9. Check it out here. Also, I finally put up a videos button on the left which will direct you to the new video section.

A mild but debilitating virus descended upon DJ Logos this past weekend, forcing a cancellation of Logos in Motion 25. However, prepare for a full three hour show this coming Saturday at 7pm on unitedbreaks.fm. Don't miss it! You know how Logos gets when he's been out of the loop for a few weeks...locos!!
August 1st, 2009
Another station malfunction caused the show to be started about 20 minutes late. That same malfunction also limited the duration of the show to 2 hours, when it's supposed to be 3 hours long (technically, 2:57:59). So the length of LiM 24 is north of 2 hours for this week. That said, there's lots of scratching, new vocal and sample fx applied, and jams guaranteed to shake up the junk in your trunk (if you have subs in there).
July 27th, 2009
Although there was no broadcast due to a station malfunction, I happened to pre-record Saturday's show earlier that day. So here it is, available for download exclusively on this site. Here's the link: Logos in Motion XXIII.
July 21st, 2009
I recently purchased a new M-Audio Delta 1010LT sound card to replace my aging EMU 0404-based PCI sound card. Due to being out of town all week, I didn't have the time necessary to set everything up and get it tweaked before last Saturday's show. So I decided to cancel that night. However, I will be back this coming Saturday to perform episode 23 of Logos in Motion, at the usual spot. For those without any recognizable intelligence, click on the banner at the bottom of this site to access my show while it's live on the air.
In the meantime, here are some new pictures I snapped tonight after making a minor mod to the desk...

Though I came fully prepared for a 3 hour session, station-induced technical issues forced the show to start roughly 40 minutes late. Consequently, this week's mix is shorter. Enjoy!
June 17th, 2009
This past weekend I cancelled Logos in Motion due to personal reasons; if anyone tuned in, I apologize. I am not usually one to cancel a show at the last minute. That said, I've been collecting a lot of new tracks in the past week. So I ended up making a CD-length minimal mix set the other night full of these new tracks. Out of the 21 total songs played during the session, 8 tracks make their debut. This is one of those simple mixes: the sampler is turned off. Only scratching and some deck FX are used. It's also full of trunk-junk-vibrating Bass in Yer Face!!
This surprise set, under the @Play title, is available for download in place of the show that will resume next weekend; episode twenty of Logos in Motion!
June 8th, 2009
Please forgive the brain fart... The latest Gallery page is really available now. Here is a direct link. Look below for a few picture samples. Also, Logos in Motion XIX is now available for download.

In other news, Logos will be performing at the 2009 Army Recruiters "Org" Day on Friday June 26th, 2009 in Jackson, MS. You'll hear nothing but the Old Skool pumping out of the Army's portable P.A. system for at least two hours under the outdoor Army-Strong tents the guys will have setup for me (I hope). Aww what the heck, maybe I'll throw in some dark-edge breakbeat just to liven the mix a bit more. If you are an Army Recruiter or spouse of one in Louisiana, Mississippi or Western Tennessee, you can look forward to seeing Mister "G" do his thang as alter-ego DJ Logos!! I'm going to bring the SL1200 for a little show-and-tell scratching, old-skool style and if I'm in a particularly good mood I might just tote along the sampling keyboard and a computer to drive it.
May 31st, 2009
Episode 18 of Logos in Motion is now available for download. In my opinion, it's one of the most accurate and creative performances I have ever done. You'll also notice that I'm getting better at scratching. This house is proving to have some great creative energy within its walls.
In other news, a new gallery page has been uploaded with some pictures I've taken of my end of the new living room, complete with my purple extra-terrestrial blow-up doll "Fred."
May 24th, 2009
Logos is back and has performed perhaps the most spontaneous and exciting set of his entire earthly existence. When you listen to Episode 17 of my weekly show, it will become obvious before too long that the guy that made this mix is on a major high right now: My new house! I LOVE IT!!!!
May 10th, 2009
Logos in Motion episode XVI is now available for download. Next week, I will not be performing due to being in the middle of the move mentioned below. I will return to the air the following Saturday, May 23rd to perform episode XVII. In other news, the gallery has now grown to four pages full of photos.
May 3rd, 2009
Enjoy the latest Logos in Motion episode, number 15. As usual, it is available for download. Also, I've created a second photo gallery page with new photos of the house, my twins Blake & Jacob, and friends that I play spades with on weekends.
In other news, DJ Logos will be moving his growing clan to a big four bedroom house in the heart of LaPlace, Louisiana in two weeks which means lots of chaos with a nice bundle of sore muscles as a by-product. I don't expect any of my friends to help; they will all find some excuse why they can't help me, I guarantee it. I plan on performing episode XVI next Saturday but I can guarantee an absence the following Saturday, the 16th of May. It will fall in the middle of a switchover from Cox to Comcast, which will make it impossible to send a live stream over the Internet.
Being unsure of whether or not I ever mentioned this, I'll mention it now. During each & every show on unitedbreaks.fm, DJ Logos is available for chat in unitedbreaks.fm chatroom. It can be accessed either from the main site or for those who don't care for Java (I don't care much for its snail-like performance) it can also be accessed from any IRC client. Simply connect to #ubfm once you are connected to your preferred IRC server.
Not only can you express your undying admiration for me, you can also request songs. Although I do pick out the songs for each set before-hand, there have been many times that I've changed the playlist to accomodate requests from the chatroom. Keep in mind, if I don't answer a question immediately, it's because I'm in the middle of a mix with the headphones on and will answer as soon as I turn my head to look at the computer monitor with a free hand to type a response.
